Skiing may not be the first thing individuals think of when they start gathering information on Dubai. After all, it is a warm location. With that said, what better way to stay cool and enjoy a winter sport indoors than to enjoy the slopes at Ski Dubai. Ski Dubai is known as the first indoor ski resort in the entire Middle East. With ski slopes of varying skill levels and plenty of things to do for the family in addition to skiing, Ski Dubai is a hit with locals and visitors alike.
About the Facility
Ski Dubai is in the same complex as the Kempinski Hotel and the Mall of the Emirates. The ski facility itself has 5 different slopes and one can engage in skiing, tobogganing and snowboarding within the facility. The black diamond run is one of the supreme runs with regard to indoor skiing facility slopes and is 400 meters long with a drop of 60 meters. For those who want something a little less challenging, Ski Dubai offers smaller slopes for beginners and the little ones in your group. A quad-style chairlift and tow lift will take you back up to the top of the slope when you are ready to hit the slopes again. Snowboarders get to practice their tricks on the 90-meter quarter pipe. For those who just like to play in the snow, the facility Snow Park is the best place to do so.
Another great thing about Ski Dubai is that you can come to the facility in your street clothes and get all that you need in order to enjoy the facility right then and there. Ski Dubai provides ski clothing, skis, snowboards, toboggans and anything else you might need to have an enjoyable day.
Dining at Ski Dubai
During your indoor ski adventure you are sure to work up an appetite. This is where dining at one of the fabulous Ski Dubai restaurants will become a necessity. The St. Moritz Café and Avalanche Café both offer a wide array of excellent cuisine to fill you up and get you back on the slopes in no time. While dining you can enjoy the view, the company and the food all at the same time.
For those who have never skied or snowboarded before, ski instructors are available to take you through the motions and teach you how to ski or snowboard. These professional instructors will provide you with the skills that you need in order to have a fantastic day on the slopes.
